Europe finds fairway to unity

Posted on Thursday, September 18 by Registered CommenterRichard Edwards | CommentsPost a Comment

It’s rare that the words unity and Europe find their way into the same sentence, but if anyone needs confirmation that the diverse countries that make up this continent can gel to great effect then hopefully events in Kentucky this weekend can prove it.

The Ryder Cup, which pitches Europe’s finest golfers against their counterparts from across the pond, has long acted as a unifying force - particularly in recent years when the Americans have been left licking their wounds after losing five of the past six tournaments – and has proved to be one of the few events capable of bringing the continent together.

Let’s hope that European business leaders tune in to events at the Valhalla golf club over the weekend, and here’s hoping Europe’s winning streak continues.
